Always dreamed of starting your own business? Ti-Alliance has conducted two studies exploring what businesses can be successful in our rural economy. The studies revealed some important information about how our area is changing, the short and long-term impacts of the pandemic, and what we might target for economic development priorities. They painted a picture of businesses that could thrive here year-round… game-changers that could best support our residents and create a 4-season draw for visitors.

A place of unparalleled beauty
There are few places on earth that rival the beauty of our area. In every direction, there are picture-perfect vistas. The lakes, the mountains, babbling brooks, world-class fall foliage, wildlife, and clean air. In any season, it’s just beautiful.
A place of historical significance
We celebrate the American Revolution around here. We study it. We restore it. We re-enact it. And we embrace it everywhere as we golf across historic battlefields, plant native plants in our gardens, and navigate the same waters that transported our country’s founding fathers.
A place of fun
Lake Champlain, Lake George, the Adirondacks, and the Green Mountains are a four-season playground. Swimming, boating, fishing, sailing, hiking, sunning, four-wheeling, hunting, downhill and cross country skiing, and snowmobiling are just some of the ways we have fun here. More importantly, the people who live in this part of the world have a great sense of humor and love to play.
A place of community
In our towns, lifelong friendships are the norm, not the exception. You know your neighbors, the shop owner knows your name, and your children can ride their bikes to school and play safely in their neighborhood. When you need help, folks pitch in. We work hard and play hard. We’re honest and kind. And we welcome new people in our communities with open arms.
A place of economic opportunity
In 1775 when Fort Ticonderoga was built, this place between Lake George and Lake Champlain lorded over all of the commerce between New York and Montreal. Whoever controlled this site, controlled the riches. In the 1800s the first commercial mines and timber operations in the United States were founded here, helping to give rise to the American Industrial Revolution. In the 1900s the area thrived with vast farmlands, timber, mining, mills, and burgeoning tourist resorts creating a vacation mecca in the Adirondacks.
Today, the Ticonderoga Area offers exciting economic opportunities to a new generation of entrepreneurs. The Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance has brought together the resources of the town, investors, state and regional development resources, local businesses, and the community, to create an attractive business environment for new endeavors.
