Ti-Alliance Receives Adirondack Foundation Grant

April 27, 2022 Ticonderoga, NY – The Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance is excited to announce that they have received a $20,000 grant from The Adirondack Foundation’s Generous Acts Fund to expand its capacity in workforce development, workforce housing, and downtown revitalization programs.

This grant will be used to help fund the part-time program coordinator position for Ti-Alliance’s school and workforce development programs. In 2021/2022 these workforce development programs worked to build a connection between students and employers through Students in the Field trips to job sites, facilitated job fairs with pre-arranged job interviews, scholarship programs for further education, and exposure to the day to day work lives of people in our community in many varied fields. The goal is to help students envision a future living and working locally, and in the process create a pipeline of skilled labor for our employers.

The grant funding will also be used to build new capacity for Ti-Alliance’s workforce housing and downtown revitalization programs. Both areas of development represent important underpinnings of our local rural economy, areas that have been either shrinking or underdeveloped for decades and limit the potential for economic growth. These aspects of economic growth are high priority areas for the Regional Economic Development Council and other regional and state agencies.

“We want to thank the Adirondack Foundation for recognizing the effectiveness and fresh approach that Ti-Alliance has taken to workforce development in the past couple of years. Now we want to bring the same energy and creativity to some other systemic challenges that face our area as we work to create a stable foundation for new growth in the coming years,” said Ti-Alliance Executive Director Donna Wotton. “This latest grant from the Adirondack Foundation Generous Acts Fund will enable Ti-Alliance to expand our capacity in the areas of housing and downtown development. We’re incredibly grateful to the Adirondack Foundation, and the Generous Acts Fund donors for their generosity and partnership, and look forward to an incredible year ahead.”

Ti-Alliance is an economic development non-profit working to develop business, employment, housing, education, and other activities that enhance the economy of the Ticonderoga Area and build a strong regional economic hub in the southern part of the North Country.

The Adirondack Foundation works to enhance the lives of those living and working in the Adirondack region through philanthropy. The foundation builds charitable assets to strengthen Adirondack communities and ensure everyone who loves the Adirondacks can thrive there.
