Ti-Alliance Invites 2023 Career Training Scholarship Applications

March 20, 2023 Ticonderoga, NY — The Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance has announced that they are accepting applications for their Career Training Scholarship Program. The goal of these scholarships is to encourage students in our community to pursue careers in skilled trades and practice their trades in our community where jobs await. Last year, Ti-Alliance awarded $33,000 to five students for programs in Applied Art, Welding, Environmental Studies, and Nursing.

The Career Training Scholarships are available to residents of Hague, Ticonderoga, or Putnam. Applicants can be a graduating senior, a GED graduate, or a post-high school graduate from Ticonderoga High School who wants a career in a skilled trade and hopes to work in the Ticonderoga area after receiving their degree or certification.

Eligible programs include (but are not limited to) Associate in Applied Science, Associate in Occupational Science, and certificate programs including: Agriculture Farming & Sustainable Food, Auto & Diesel Mechanics, Auto Body Repair, Computer Electronics & Information Technology Systems, Construction Management, Construction Trades (Carpentry, Masonry), Culinary Arts/Restaurant Management, Criminal Justice/Security, Early Childhood Education (Daycare & Teaching Assistants), Electrical, Environmental Technology (Water Quality, Conservation), Facility Maintenance Tech/Mechatronics, Fire Science & Paramedic, Forestry, General Construction - All Trades, Health & Dental Sciences & Services, HVAC/Plumbing, Landscaping, Land Surveying, Mechanical & Industrial Technology (Paper/Pulp, Plastics, Computer-Assisted Manufacturing (CAM)), Nursing, Outdoor Education, Powersports & Marine Performance & Repair, Radiology Technician, Renewable Energy Technology (Wind & Solar Installation Technology), Veterinarian Technician, and Welding.

Scholarships will cover the costs of tuition (after other financial aid) and non-tuition costs such as room and board, transportation, books/tools/supplies, certification or other exam fees, and childcare costs. The scholarships represent a commitment to the student for up to two academic years.

This scholarship program is a fantastic opportunity for any current or former student of Ticonderoga, Hague, or Putnam to follow their dreams (including GED holders). Ti-Alliance is committed to making sure that no student from our community is constrained from getting desired training for lack of funding. Our community needs many skills in our local job market and the Alliance’s hope is that people will want to further their education and bring those skills back into their community.
