March 10, 2022 Ticonderoga, NY – The Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance, Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce, and Ticonderoga Schools are partnering on a spring job fair to connect students with local employers for seasonal and full-time (post-graduation) employment. This year’s fair will be held at the Ticonderoga High School gymnasium on Thursday, April 28, from 9:30 - 1:30.
This year, students will prepare for the job fair in advance by completing standardized job applications. Teachers and counselors will mentor the students to help them put their best foot forward. Students will have the opportunity to explore a “catalog” of job opportunities and make interview appointments in advance of the big day.
On the day of the event, students will be able to engage with the attending employers and consider all their options before participating in 15-minute interviews. Employers will be able to meet more than 200 students from 14-18 years old and talk to them about the great opportunities available at their companies.
“There will be many seniors attending the fair who are graduating in two months and looking for full-time career opportunities. But there are also younger students looking for summer employment and their first experience in the workforce. This is a great way for employers to build a pipeline of workers that can return year after year as they build experience,” said Ti-Alliance Executive Director, Donna Wotton. “Last year’s job fair was very successful in helping employers find their seasonal employees. This year we’ve had more time to plan, and we’ve moved the date up so employers can get their staffing in place to support their seasonal plans.”
Employers wishing to participate in the job fair can email Ti-Alliance Program Coordinator, Melinda Fuller, at fuller.melinda@gmail.com. The deadline to submit job description forms to Ti-Alliance is Tuesday, March 22.
Additionally, submissions from employers who are also TACC members will be uploaded to the TACC Employment Opportunities database for digital access.
