In 2012, TRA led the formation of a Workforce Development task group representing local and regional partner organizations which included education, health care, business, industry, non-profit and government entities. The collaboration resulted in the development and delivery of training programs that prepared adult students and local high school seniors to earn the nationally recognized Work Readiness Credential, including National Retail Federation Customer Service training. This certificate establishes that the applicant has the math, communications, problem solving, and workplace skills to be successful.
The program was initially funded and provided by the partner organizations, at no cost to students. The Ticonderoga Central School system has continued this program, offering Workforce Readiness Credential and customer service training to all Ticonderoga High School seniors.
